The Satanic Bible

So I’ve started reading The Satanic Bible and I’m officially intrigued. After getting through that boring foreword by Peter Gilmore I read the Preface, the Prologue and the Nine Satanic Statements. I have found that I have had to read paragraphs over again to really get the point. This is not the kind of book one can just gloss over and read quickly.

Tonight I start (Fire) The Book of Satan; The Infernal Diatribe.

I’ve finished The Infernal Diatribe. I suppose it was more shocking in its day, but with marriage equality and all that jazz, it seems a little less infernal and more practical.

I’ve finally gotten to the spellcasting section, or Belial, EARTH, and I have to say I’m a wee bit pissed off. According to this religion, I have to dress all sexy for the pleasure of the men who get to wear plain hooded robes. What?

Well, I finished it yesterday. It ended with a bunch of Enochian proclamations and their English translations. This book is stupid and definitely not worth the $7.99 I spent on it. If you’re new to magick, you might get a kick out of it, but if you’ve been around the block a few times you’ll see that this is just a con job.
